Each museum tells a story and sends a specific message using a specific model of representation. The Museum of African Art in Belgrade opened its doors to the public in 1977, as part of the politics and ideology of the Non-Aligned movement, and the Museum itself was based on the gift-collection of Zdravko and Veda Pеčаr – a collection which was donated to the city of Belgrade in 1974. Find out the importance of the Museum of African Art to the city of Belgrade and learn about its permanent displays and collections.
• Sunday, 17 April, 11-13ч
Complementary program of the thematic exhibition: “IBEJI: TWICE BORN”:
GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE EXHIBITION „Ibedji - twice born“ + CREATIVE WORKSHOP FOR KIDS „Art and myths of the Yoruba“ (age 4 to 12)
Individual visits to the Museum of African Art, 10-18h, for the duration of the “Days of Belgrade” event (16-19. April) are FREE.
